Walking in the Kennebecasis Valley
KV Walkers, a volunteer-led walking group, provides an opportunity to explore local walking trails and meet fellow walkers while reaping the many health benefits of walking.
The group has been leading walks in the K. for eight years. You may have heard of 12 Weeks/12 Walks – their original summer program. Initially they walked the available trails and streetscapes; but, with increased trail development, they now enjoy the trails only. Snowshoeing events are held in the winter season and an annual ‘long-distance’ walk has become a popular challenge.
This summer (2021) a new walk will be organized each week and held on Monday evenings at 6:30. Because of the pandemic, interested walkers are asked to register for the walks and provide a telephone number for contact information. Contact: paulabawn2@gmail.com
Events are posted on the KV Walkers Facebook site. Check the site to discover what trails will be explored next.
A summer program includes the popular local trails—the Wells Trail network, Villa Madonna Trail, Hillside Trail, Q & R Trail, Taylor Brook Trail, Q-Plex Trails, and Hammond River Park Trails, as well as shorter or lesser-known trails in our communities.
There are so many trails to explore so close to home.
