Record Turn-out at AGM 2025

Well Attended Event

A record turnout of 157 members attended NBSRT’s 50th Anniversary AGM, held at the Rodd Miramichi River Hotel on May 13–14. An additional 16 guests joined members for tours and social events. Alongside the pre-conference social activities, the business sessions featured insightful presentations from Sean Hewitt, President and CEO of Vestcor; Dale Weldon, Senior Consultant with Johnson Insurance; and Teacher Pension Plan representatives Larry Jamieson and Yves Plourde.
NBTA President, Peter Lagacy, brought greetings from the NBTA and thanked retired teachers for their assistance to active teachers around the province.

More details – and photos – to follow in the days ahead.

Special thanks to ASD-N Superintendent, Dean Mutch, and City of Miramichi Deputy Mayor, Paddy Quinn. Both brought remarks that went beyond the usual welcome greetings and touched the hearts of all in attendance. A heart-felt thank you to both.

Thanks to the NBSRT AGM Organizing Committee, we were able to celebrate 50 years of service to retired teachers with panache. Dale and his team must be commended for creating a celebration / meeting that will be remembered for its entertainment, organizational perfection and adherence to General Dale’s timeline. Not always an easy accomplishment!
