Letters of Thanks
Dear NB Society of Retired Teachers Saint John,
My name is Ashley Cormier, and I am honored to be this year’s recipient of the Education Scholarship provided by the NB Society of Retired Teachers Saint John. I would like to thank you, the foundation, for your generosity in contributing to the education of not only myself but the many other past and future students in the education program. The support is very much appreciated and recognized.
I am currently in my fourth year of university, however my third year in the Education program. I am Majoring in French, Minoring in History and am the Vice-President of the Education Society at the university. I look forward to graduating in the spring of 2024 and hope to one day further my education by completing my masters. My field of interest is the Exceptional Learners Program.
Outside of my education, I have various interests. The first being my dog, Axel. I am very much an animal lover, and love to go on walks with him or take him on fun adventures. I am also a competitive curler. I have gone to three national events, the most recent being last year, finishing fourth at each one. (Hopefully someday I will break that pattern). I have taken a year off to focus on my studies, however I am looking forward to playing competitively again once I finish school.
Your scholarship has helped me cover some of the expenses of my education, allowing me to work fewer shifts, which in turn provides me the opportunity to focus on my academics but also pursue old and new interests! Thank you for once again for your support and your investment in my future.
Sincerely,
Ashley Cormier
Dear NB Society of Retired Teachers Saint John,
My name is Lily Morrow and as a recipient of the 2022 scholarship I wanted to reach out and give my deepest and most sincere thank you for all your help and funding. This year especially has been a hard time financially especially with the new student financial funding and loan services with the New Brunswick EI services that were announced. Working part-time while attending school is never easy, so all your help with your scholarship funding has been so wildly beneficial in my life, and I owe my greatest thanks and appreciation.
Thanks to you, my first semester has been filled with significantly less stress and financial anxiety, allowing me to focus my full attention on my studies. Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelor of Arts degree here at UNB, and will hopefully continue to further my studies here afterwards and get my masters. With less of a need to work, even more of my focus can be spent on learning and bettering my education and learning opportunities. Without your very kind contribution I would not be able to get through school as easily, or even at all so I once again thank you greatly and will remember for the rest of my life this very kind impact your generosity has had.
All the best and my most sincere gratitude,
Lily Morrow
So great to read these letters acknowledging the effects of our scholarship!
