
KCRTA Meets in Sussex
The Kings County Retired Teachers’ Association (KCRTA) held their first in-person event in three years on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Members met in Sussex at Smitty’s Family Restaurant for a hot roast beef dinner. Registration and a social time began at 11:00 am followed by dinner at 12:00 pm noon.
Joe Monahan, our new President, introduced the 2022 -2024 executive and emceed the dinner affair. George Urquhart provided musical entertainment. Mike Maxwell won the 50/50 draw with the proceeds going to the Schools Day Museum. Eight door prizes were distributed.
A special presentation of a “Certificate in Memoriam” was made to Robert Taylor to recognize the dedication, the work and the service to both the NBSRT and in particular, the KCRTA of his late wife, Jean Taylor who died in August 2017 upon completion of her term as KCRTA President. Members and guests enjoyed the opportunity to meet in person once again.

The KCRTA was pleased to do this for Jean; she was deserving to be recognized and it was long overdue.
