There was plenty of Irish wit bouncing around at the pub when the Restigouche Retired Teachers celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at Taps. Some of the humour came from our famous local comedian and magician, Don Bernard and there was plenty more originating at the table. In true Irish form the audience responded heartily with spontaneous hilarious replies. One member of the audience later stood on his own bidding and sang a fine Irish lilt. He commanded our full attention and those who knew some or even part of the lyrics joined in to give him a chorus. It was a special occasion made all the moreso with corned beef and cabbage.
