Kings County Cash

Kings Branch (KCRTA) held a recent draw for $50 gift cards.  Find out who the FIVE winners were, and about the COVID-legal delivery method to a couple of them.

The executive of the King’s County Retired Teachers’ Association mailed Christmas cards with an enclosed Christmas message in December to all members. Cards were also sent out to all 2020 teacher retirees in King’s County. Members were asked to update and/or confirm their contact info (mailing address, telephone number and email address) by January 31, 2021 and have their name entered into a draw for one of five $50 gift cards.

On February 1, 2021, the draw was held; the five lucky retirees are:
Doug Crowley (Hampton)
Sandra Forgrave (Southfield)
Glen Grant (Halifax)
Laura Lloyd (Petitcodiac)
Mike Maxwell (Quispamsis)

KCRTA members who did not update and/or confirm their contact info are encouraged to still do so by contacting Rona Howald (696-8880) or by email to kcrta.member.contact@gmail.com. The KCRTA wants to hear from everyone.
We thank everyone who has contacted us to date.

Two recipients (D. Crowley and M. Maxwell) had their gift cards hand-delivered by the KCRTA president, Mildred Urquhart, and are pictured below.

Group Insurance Rates for 2026The New Brunswick Society of Retired Teachers (NBSRT), on behalf of the NBTF Group Insurance Trustees, is forwarding the 2026 Group Insurance Renewal Rates directly to its members to ensure that everyone has timely access to this important information. Although the NBTF Group Insurance Trustees have already mailed a communiqué outlining the updated rates, the ongoing rotating postal strikes across the province may mean that delivery cannot be guaranteed before the new rates take effect with the December 24th pension deposit. Because many members rely on this information to understand and plan for changes to their monthly deductions, NBSRT felt it was essential to provide an additional, reliable method of communication. By circulating the rates through our own channels, we aim to prevent delays, reduce uncertainty, and ensure that all members—regardless of postal service disruptions—receive clear, accurate details about the upcoming adjustments. This proactive approach reflects NBSRT’s commitment to keeping members well-informedCheck your email for this information. This information is already available in the MEMBERS ONLY – GROUP INSURANCE section of our website ...
