Branch Resolutions
The following Branch Resolutions will come before the 2025 AGM for a vote. If you haven’t already registered to attend the AGM in Miramichi so that you can cast your opinion, be sure to register right away. (AGM Registration link is under the NOTICE BOARD on the homepage of this website)
RESOLUTION 1: A resolution related to Group Insurance.
WHEREAS NBTF Group Insurance pays 80% of all vision care benefits; AND
WHEREAS the cost of an ocular examination has increased.
BE IT RESOLVED that the NBSRT send a request to the NBTF Group Insurance Trustees to increase the maximum allowable reimbursement [currently $84] for an ocular exam, to reimbursement at 80% of the new maximum.
RESOLUTION 2: A resolution related to Group Insurance.
WHEREAS our Group Insurance Plan only allows us to claim one ocular examination every two years; AND
WHEREAS retired teachers are living longer; AND
WHEREAS many Plan Members are being affected by cataracts; AND
WHEREAS optometrists/ophthalmologists examine a patient’s eyes each year to monitor the growth of cataracts.
BE IT RESOLVED that the NBSRT Executive send a request to the NBTF Group Insurance Trustees to cover yearly ocular examinations for Plan Members who are under optometrist/ophthalmologist care for cataracts.
