In the days before COVID-19, MARTA members enjoyed lots of social activities including craft sales, pot lucks, bowling afternoons, dinners, and bus trips.

One of the most enjoyable was time spent with some Bathurst Branch members cruising on Miramichi River Boat Tours’ tour boat, the Max Aitken.  After leaving the dock in the former Town of Chatham, the crew sailed “up” river to the Ritchie Wharf before changing direction to return.  Music, bar service, and a historical tour of “the River” going back to First Nations’ trading routes a couple of thousand years ago entertained everyone under sunny skies and warm temperatures.

A five-minute walk after disembarkation from the Max Aitken saw everyone enjoying an afternoon of games and pub food at the historic O’Donoghue’s Irish Pub.  What an enjoyable and memorable afternoon.
